LTL and Full Truckload Freight
LTL (Less Than Truckload) and FTL (Full Than Truckload) are freight shipments that are transported by truck.
With LTL shipping, the goods being transported aren’t usually enough to take up the entire space inside a truck, so the remaining space might be shared with another shipment to help reduce your costs.
Whereas FTL shipment, goods being transported is enough to occupy a full truck’s storage space and therefore the business books the full truck.
Through our partner carriers World Options is able to offer LTL shipping services designed for freight shipping weighing several hundred pounds within a less than truck load vehicle shipment.
By booking an LTL shipment, take advantage of having your domestic freight collected from an office, warehouse or other location of your choosing to start the journey to its delivery destination.
Good to know - LTL Shipping Facts
LTL shipping is a perfect fit for businesses if:
- Their freight doesn’t require the entire space inside a 48 inch or 53 inch foot truck trailer.
- They can be a large amount of small packages to many different locations.
- Or one large shipment to one or more destinations.
- If they are an e-commerce website or a small business.
- If their freight weighs between 151 and 20,000 pounds and the linear length is less than 15 feet.
LTL Shipping Benefits
LTL shipping can be cost-effective due to the shipment requiring small deliveries and not a full truckload.
Freight can be delivered quicker to customers by using LTL shipping due to the reduction in loading time until the truckload is full.
Easy To Deliver & Move
LTL freight can be collected directly from a business’s doorstep or another convenient location quickly and safely by using ramps, liftgates, and pallet jacks.
World Options provides businesses with a fast and effective FTL shipping service, designed to move cargo weighing between 10,000lbs and 45,000lbs door to door. If the cargo is expensive and heavy, then FTL is the right shipping choice for you.
Via our shipping partners, the World Options portal allows customers to book appointments for your freight and provide you with a notification when the shipment arrives at its destination.
We possess all of the required equipment needed for transporting FTL freight, no matter how heavy or cumbersome it might be.
The maximum dimensions of the trailer used to transport freight are 100 inches x 110 inches x 53 inches
FTL Shipping Benefits
FTL freight stays in one truck during its journey, which means that the freight is not moved around - either onto another truck or re-packed, which makes FTL freight an excellent choice for fragile shipments.
If a truckload has been completely filled an FTL shipment may arrive at a destination more quickly than an LTL shipment because a Full Than Truckload will not need to make any stops on the way to the delivery point, whereas an LTL shipment will need to stop along the way.
